This colorway was designed in honor of my friend Jeanette Zimmerli, who lost her battle with ovarian cancer on September 18, 2018. Jeanette was a truly kind and generous soul. She put love and comfort into action a few years ago by knitting me a very special shawl after I lost my baby, Micah. She walked up to me after a yarn market and enveloped me in the hugest hug, and wrapped that shawl around my shoulders. Just knowing that someone loved me enough to do that really did a lot toward healing my heart during my grief. Jeanette was always loving and kind, and I will miss knowing she is on this earth, knitting all the purple yarns (her favorite!).

I dyed this colorway with Jeanette in mind, since she adored purple, and teal is the remembrance color for ovarian cancer awareness. It is a hybrid dyed colorway and should not pool when knit, but as always please knit a swatch to determine the effect you'll get with your chosen pattern and needle size.

There are 7 skeins of Journey Sock and 1 skein of Twinkle Sock available in this first lot, and all of the skeins are slightly different. If you purchase multiple skeins, I will do my best to ensure that you get ones that closely resemble each other.

$5 from the purchase of each skein will be donated to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance in Jeanette's name, in hopes that one day nobody will have to lose someone they love to this awful disease.

As you might expect, this item is not eligible for any sort of coupon code or discount.

Twinkle Sock:
438yds/100g

75% superwash merino/20% nylon/5% stellina sparkle

7-8 sts=1" on #1-3 needles

hand or machine wash cool, lay flat to dry

Journey Sock:
400yds/100g
80% superwash merino/20% nylon
7-8sts=1" on #1-3 needles
hand or machine wash cool, lay flat to dry

As with any hand dyed yarn, variations between skeins can happen even in the same dyelot. I always recommend alternating skeins in a project to minimize any noticeable differences.

After dyeing, I always rinse my items once in cool water; be aware that some dye leakage may still happen when the item is washed for the first time, but is not indicative of color fading.

Any purchase of 2 or more mailable items from my shop will receive an organic lavender sachet in their package. If you would prefer not to receive a sachet for allergy or other reasons, please leave me a note.

Please keep in mind that I try my best to photograph my items carefully, and that the colors are correct on my monitor.... however, there might be a slight variation between my monitor and yours.
